Call for Collaboration: Multicentric Studies in Pediatric Interventional Pulmonology
Multicentric Research Initiatives from the 6th PILCA Session
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
During the 6th Pediatric Interventional Lung Case Academy (PILCA) session, Dr. Aslı Imran Yilmaz, from Konya, Turkey, presented two great ideas for multicentric studies. We’d now like to open these projects to colleagues who are interested in joining.
A follow-up meeting will be organized with participating centers to plan the next steps together.
Study 1: Transbronchial Cryobiopsy vs. Forceps Biopsy in Pediatric Interstitial Lung Disease
This project aims to compare the diagnostic yield, tissue quality, and safety of cryobiopsy and forceps biopsy in children with suspected interstitial lung disease. Centers using either or both techniques are welcome to participate.
Study 2: Cryoablation in Pediatric Subglottic Stenosis
This retrospective study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cryoablation for benign subglottic stenosis (<1 cm) in pediatric patients, including outcomes, complications, and need for reintervention.
These projects are a great opportunity to collaborate, share experience, and strengthen evidence in pediatric interventional pulmonology.
